Men's Basketball begins NJCAA Tournament play on Mar. 18 in Hutchinson, Kan. fresh off of their dramatic March run that earned them a TCCAA title and the chance to play for a National Championship. They face ninth-seeded Casper College in the first round on Monday at 1:00 ET.
The Cougars have won four straight and five of their last six games. They last played on Mar. 5, when they defeated Roane State 70-58 in the TCCAA Championship game. Cleveland State is now 15-15 after this strong stretch of games.
Casper College, located in Casper, Wyo., has won 15 straight games and last lost on Jan. 16th at Sheridan College 98-87. They are 32-2 overall. They won the Region IX championship, winning their title on Mar. 9 after defeating Sheridan 87-74.
This is the Cougars' first national tournament appearance since 1989 and the Thunderbirds' first since 1996.
Cleveland State is seeded 24th overall and would face eighth-seeded Ranger College, out of Ranger, Texas, if they win on Monday.
