CSCC Basketball Drops Double Header vs Snead State

Cleveland State Community College's men's and women's basketball teams traveled to Boaz, Alabama for a road matchup against Snead State.

The women's game kicked off the double header at 5:30 PM on Tuesday evening. The Lady Cougars were defeated by Snead State by a score of 82-47. Head Coach Evelyn Thompson said, "Tonight's effort showed that we're not ready to play together as a team. I have to get this team on the same page or it will be a very long season. We had a good effort from freshman Za'kkria Robinson, sophomore Kaitlin Crump and sophomore Jordan Smith." In total, Robinson scored 14 points, Kaitlin Crump dropped 9 points and Jordan Smith scored 8 points.

The Lady Cougars are now 0-1 on the season and will look to even up their record against Dyersburg State on Friday, November 16th at home.

The men's team were up next as they faced Snead State at 7:30 PM. The Cougars lost to Snead State, 74-49. At halftime the Cougars kept it close at a 29-22 score but unfortunately Snead State ran away with the game from that point on. Head coach Lee Cigliano commented, "They played excellent defense but we struggled to execute the entire game with our offense."

The Cougars are now 1-2 on the season and will also look to even things up as they face Campbellsville-Somerset College on Saturday, November 10th at home.
