Lady Cougars Fall to Snead State, 67-54

Cleveland State Community College's women's basketball team faced Snead State Community College on Tuesday evening, losing by a score of 67-54. It was a hard fought game between the two squads but it was Snead State who snuck out with the victory.

Leading the Lady Cougars was Hannah Phillips who dropped 20 points, 4 assists and 4 steals. Kaitlin Crump also had a nice game, tallying a double-double as she scored 11 points, 12 rebounds, and two steals. Jordan Smith added 7 points as Michaela Bennefield and Za'Kkira Robinson each scored 5 points. Britany Gore was a force on the boards, snagging a whopping 13 rebounds. 

Cleveland State kept the game close at times but ultimately did not hold a lead for the entire game. Hannah Phillips played hard, doing her best to keep the Lady Cougars within reach while Britany Gore did her best to keep the ball in Cleveland State's hands. Snead State however proved to be too much as they held a steady lead, going into the half with a score of 36 over the Lady Cougar's 26. Cleveland State were able to keep the score within 7 heading into the fourth quarter but Snead State did not budge, walking away with a 13 point victory at the end of the game. 

The Lady Cougars are now 2-3 (1-1) on the season. They'll be back in action on December 7th as they face Motlow State at home with tip-off coming at 7:30 PM.
