2:00 ET- #1 Walters State 54- #4 Roane State 45

 

Walters State advances to the championship game tomorrow at 2:00 ET against Chattanooga State after defeating Walters State 54-45.

The game was neck-and-neck to start, as the Lady Senators lead 12-11 at the end of the first. Walters State was able to separate themselves a bit with a 5-0 to close the half, as they lead the Lady Raiders 24-17.

In the second half, Roane State cut the deficit to just a point multiple times in the third, but Walters State was able to bring the lead back up to 39-33 to close the quarter. Their largest lead in the game was nine points, which came with :31 to go in the game.

Walter State's Zacharyia Esmon led all scorers with 15 points.

4:00 ET- #3 Chattanooga State 61 vs. #2 Motlow State 53

 

Chattanooga State advances to the championship game tomorrow at 2:00 ET to face #1 Walters State after a 61-53 victory against Motlow State.

They came out firing out of the gates, beginning the game on a 10-2 run and went up double-digits on the Lady Bucks with 3:42 left in the first quarter. The Lady Tigers outscored Motlow State 21-8 in the first.

Chatt State did not lead by less than 12 points in the second quarter. They went into the locker room up 32-18. They built their lead up to 20 points in the third quarter, and lead 47-32 going into the final frame.

Motlow State was able to cut the lead down to single digits with three minutes left in the game, but Chatt State was able to hang on for the victory late with two clutch free throws scored by Shanice Nelson with 21 seconds left.

Motlow's Janna Lewis led all scorers with 28 points.

6:00 ET- #8 Roane State 99 vs. #4 Dyersburg State 86

 

Roane State continued their magical run this postseason and knocked off Dyersburg State 99-86 to advance to tomorrow's championship game at 4:00 ET against #7 Cleveland State.

The Raiders went on a 9-2 run to open the game, but then the Eagles scored seven unanswered points to tie the game 9-9 at the 17 minute mark. By the 8:22 mark, Roane built the lead back up to seven, but Dyersburg came back to take a 38-37 lead with 4:23 to go. The Raiders lead 45-42 going into the locker room. DeMeirre Black had 23 points at the half.

The second half was neck-and-neck. The lead traded hands multiple times in the first few minutes of the period, with no team really gaining an edge until the 7:46 mark of the quarter, when the Raiders took a 74-68 lead. They built their lead up to 12 by the 6:17 point. They led by as many as 15 and were able to fend off the Eagles after the midway point of the quarter.

Black lead all scorers with 35 points.

8:00 ET- #7 Cleveland State 70- #6 Columbia State 66

 

Cleveland State advanced to the championship game tomorrow at 4:00 ET against Roane State after defeating Columbia State 70-66.

The first half was extremely close, with the largest lead of eight points coming from Columbia State. Cleveland State had back-to-back go-ahead and ones at both the 5:10 and 3:35 marks of the period to give them a lead. Columbia State regained the lead in the later stages of the half, but the Cougars battled back again to make the halftime score 37-34 Chargers.

The first part of the second half featured many lead changes and ties. After the Cougars battled down from a seven-point deficit to take a 46-45 lead with 13:46 to play, the two teams traded advantages on the scoreboard until Cleveland State pulled away to a six point lead with 8:24 left in the game. The Chargers came back to bring the lead to 61-59 with under three minutes to go, but Cleveland State hit multiple huge shots late to hold on to the lead.

Delaino Walker lead all scorers with 31 points.
