Four-Year/Professional Cougar Updates

Three different former Cougar baseball players some success on their respective teams in the last week.

At the collegiate level, two Cleveland State alums helped their team in conference play.

Devin Gardner ('16) went 5-10 (.500) with an an RBI in three games last week as Belmont entered into the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. He had two multi-hit games, including a 3-3 effort against Eastern Kentucky on May 24. He also had put together a five-game hitting streak going into May 23. Belmont was eliminated from the conference tournament on May 24.

Noah Hill ('18) had an 11-game hitting streak and a 24-game on-base streak going until the 22nd. Both of those marks were the highest on the team this season. ETSU was eliminated from the Southern Conference tournament on May 25 and finished with a record of 34-21, which was their best since 2011.

In the Minor Leagues, Ryan Casteel ('10) has been tearing the cover off of the ball for the Mississippi Braves. His 12-game hitting streak, which is the longest on the team and in the Southern League, may have come to an end last week, but he still posted a .318 average with six RBI in six games last week.
