After upsetting #9 Casper College 90-83 yesterday afternoon, Men's Basketball will look to continue their Cinderella tournament run against the #8 Rangers of Ranger College.
Ranger College is located in Ranger, Texas, which is around an hour and a half west of Fort Worth. They have earned a bid to the tournament twice in the last three years and come from the tough Region V conference.
The Rangers are 28-3 this year and were 13-1 in their conference. They last played on March 8, where they lost in the Region V championship to South Plains College 85-75. Before that loss, they had won 15 straight games.
The Cougars have won five straight games, including wins over second-ranked Motlow State in the TCCAA tournament and Casper in the National Tournament. They also became the first team since the NJCAA Tournament expanded to 24 teams to win a tournament game as a 24th seed. In the game against the Thunderbirds yesterday, they had four players in double-figures and hope to repeat that in today's contest.
If Cleveland State wins today, they would face the winner of #1 Northwest Florida State and #17 Cape Fear. They play just before the Cougars at 3:00 ET.
