Cougars Can't Hang On to Defeat Volunteer State
Cleveland State went into halftime up ten on Volunteer State, but couldn't pull out the win. The Pioneers (6-8, 5-1) put together a strong second half outscoring the Cougars (3-8, 0-7) by 26 to take a 78-62 road win to remain tied at first place in the conference standings.

Cleveland State went into halftime up ten on Volunteer State, but couldn't pull out the win.
The Pioneers (6-8, 5-1) put together a strong second half outscoring the Cougars (3-8, 0-7) by 26 to take a 78-62 road win to remain tied at first place in the conference standings.
Jayden Nesbitt led the way for Volunteer State scoring a game high 19 points while pulling down eight rebounds. He is the second leading scorer and third leading rebounder in the conference.
For the Cougars Jeremiah Hayes had a team high 17 points, Joshua Brown also reached double figures with 11, and Ashton Munson added another 10.
Next up for Cleveland State is a road non-conference game at Tennessee Wesleyan to play their junior varsity squad this Wednesday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m.
