Cougars Golf Finishes Seventh at Atomic City Classic

Cougars golf finished in the upper half of the field at the Atomic City Classic.

Cleveland State posted their two best team scores and ended up seventh out of the fourteen teams that participated at the Oak Ridge Country Club in Oak Ridge, TN.

"We placed higher than several four-year programs which is a boost to our confidence going into the last tournament of the fall season," head coach Shannon Skipper said. "We will be practicing hard the remainder of this week with the intention of winning our last tournament."

After day one Cleveland State was in fifth place, but ended up with eight extra strokes day two.

Leading the way in this tournament for the Cougars was freshman Logan Gadd. He finished tied in 20th place overall going eight strokes over par.

Sophomore Owen Kreuger and freshman Andrew McCarver each ended +11 tied in 30th place. Sophomore Reese McFatter wasn't far behind in 37th place at +13 and freshman Kadyn Copeland went 18 strokes over par.

"We are feeling confident in our progress and know that we will continue to post lower scores," Skipper said.

Cleveland State golf finishes their fall schedule this upcoming Monday and Tuesday at the Alice Lloyd Men's Eagle Invite at Nob North Country Club in Cohutta, GA with tee time at 8 a.m.
