Cougars Golf Finishes Sixth in Fall Season Finale

Cleveland State golf finished sixth place overall in their fall season finale.

The Cougars competed in the Alice Lloyd Men's Invite at North Nob Country Club in Cohutta, GA this Monday and Tuesday in a ten-team tournament.

"We were one of only two juco teams in the tournament," head coach Shannon Skipper said.

Owen Kreuger finished best for the Cougars tied in fifth place overall with fellow sophomore Reese McFatter not far behind in ninth.

Freshman Andrew McCarver ended up 21 strokes over par tied in 25th place with Logan Gadd ending the day in 35th and Kadyn Copeland a couple behind in 37th overall.

Cleveland State was in fourth place after day one, but an extra eight strokes day two caused them to fall a couple spots in the tournament.

"The guys will be working hard on their own over the holiday season and when we return in January we will work hard as a team," Skipper said. "We are determined and motivated to make it to the national championship tournament in May and will be doing what it takes to get there."
