
Cougars Golf Finishes Sixth at the Sandhills Community College Stitch Golf Flyers Fall Invitational
Cleveland State golf improved 10 strokes in day two helping to a sixth-place finish at the Sandhills Community College Stitch Golf Flyers Fall Invitational. The Cougars shot 40 over par in the two-day tournament at the Longleaf Golf Club in Pinehurst, NC.

"We are showing improvement on our team scores as we posted the lowest round of the year so far when we shot a team score of 303 in our second round of the tournament," head coach Shannon Skipper said. "We are continuing to work hard and the work will start to pay off."
For the second straight tournament sophomore Andrew McCarver was the Cougars leader on the scoreboard placing 17th overall shooting seven over par.
The best Cougar round came from Carson Minish shooting par in round two. Minish and Carson Milen tied at +9 good for 22nd overall. Also shooting the same score was Kadyn Copeland and Gray Loftin at +13 with Seth Moore finishing out the Cougars that participated in the tournament at 15 over par.
Cleveland State is now halfway through their fall schedule with two more two-day tournaments left. The Cougars compete next at the Walters State Fall Classic at The Country Club of Morristown in Morristown, TN on Monday October 7 and Tuesday October 8.
