
Softball Loses Doubleheader to Volunteer State
Cleveland State traveled to Gallatin, Tennessee on Tuesday March 18 and lost a conference
doubleheader to Volunteer State 8-0 in both games. The Cougars managed six hits in game one and three
hits in game two.
Currently the Cougars have an overall season record of 6-12 with a conference mark of 2-4.

The Cougars loaded the bases in the first inning, but came away with no runs as they had six hits in
the five inning 8-0 loss.
Lilly Griffitts, Desiree Nance, Ava Lyne, Layla Pettigrew, Heidi Johnson and Milan Pemberton each
had one hit in the game.

In another five inning 8-0 loss Cleveland State mustered three hits, one each from Nance, Layne and
Taylor Hancock.
What's Next
The Cougars are back at home to play conference games on Friday March 21 vs Dyersburg State
with start times of 1 and 3 p.m. EST, and then on Saturday March 22 with a doubleheader scheduled
vs Southwest at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. EST.
Home games are played on the campus of Cleveland State at Cougar Softball Field. Admission is $8
per person. There is no admission charge for Cleveland State students, administrators, faculty and
staff.
