Cougars win home opener 62-50 vs Gadsden State Community College on Thursday Night, for a non-conference match up. Giving Coach Howard his first win as head coach!Cleveland State did not disappoint. The Cougars led throughout the entire game never letting their foot up.

Freshman Marcus Averhart led the team with 16 PTS, 7 REB ,and 3 AST. Teammate Melvin Tobar JR came off the bench with 13 PTS, 3 REB, and 1 AST. While, Freshman Jai Howard recorded 10 PTS, 5 REB, 1 AST. Sophomore, Miguel Shaw with 11 PTS, 8 REB, and 4 AST.  Freshman, Tony Sapp with 4 PTS and 6 REB. Freshman Sageny Horace JR with 4 PTS and 5 REB. And Sophomore Khris Green with 2 PTS, 3 REB, and 3 AST.

The Cougars are now 1-1 on the season and will be back in action for the second home game of the season Saturday, November 6 at 4pm vs Southern Crescent
