Cleveland State Basketball : 76-75

K'Juan Banks goes coast to coast with 8 seconds left to give Cleveland State the win on Wednesday night in a nail bitter at Walters State, Cougars 76-75.

With the win, Cleveland State is now 8-10 on the season and 5-7 in TCCAA play.

Head Coach Rafael Howard "We played hard and stayed with the game plan offensively. Defensively we were able to get the stops to give us a chance to win. K'Juan (KJ) did his job on both ends. He made enough shots from the perimeter to make him tough to guard. I thought Miguel kept us in the game with scoring and work on the glass."

The Cougars were led by 6'4 Sophomore, (KJ) K'Juan Banks. Banks had 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Bank's is averaging 12.3 points per game.

Along with Banks, 6'8 sophomore W/F Miguel Shaw, had a great game with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assisted. 6'2 Sophomore PG Khris Green, added 13 points and 4 assists. Other scorers were Freshman, Marcellus Taliaferro 6 points, Freshman G, Jo'Vontay Ross with 3points, Sophomore F, Kobe Pride with 3, and Freshman Marcus AverhartCharles Freeman,  and Sophomore Melvin Tobar with 2 points each.

The Cougars will be back in action Saturday, February 5 as they take on Jackson State in L.Quentin Lane Gymnasium.  The last time the Cougars and the Green Jays met was December 4th 2021, the Cougars fell 77-73.
