LADY COUGAR BASKETBALL TAKES ROAD WIN AT MOTLOW

The Lady Cougars stayed on a hot streak as they won their third game in a row on the road as they defeated the home standing Lady Bucks of Motlow by a 78-54 final.  Taking the lead with four minutes to play in the first quarter, the Lady Cougars put the game away in the 3rd quarter when they outscored their hosts 22-7.

They had four scorers reach double figures led by Ansley Bice with 19 points.  Michaela Bennefield responded with 17 points, Nicky Jones had 13 points, and Emma Harig with ten points.  Bennefield led the squad with eight rebounds and both Bice and Harig each had six.  Bennefield, Bice, and Jones each had four assists to lead the team and each also had five steals in the winning effort.

The Lady Cougars conference record sits at 5-2 which puts them a half game behind East leaders Walters State and Chattanooga State.  Their next game is at home this Wednesday, March 17, at 5:30p.m.
