COUGAR GOLFERS SEE BETTER SCORE IN 2ND DAY OF MUSIC CITY

The Cleveland State golf team say a better day on the secon day of the Music city Invitational, but were not able to move up the team standings and finished 15th in the team event.

The Cougars, who shot a team score of 313 on the first day, improved 16 stokes on the second day to card a 297 fot a two day total of 610.  Dalton Chuba, Tyler Jackson, and Wes Spillers each shot 73 (+1) on the second day while Harrison Haupt shot a 78 and Trent Cooper came in with an 82.  

Chuba finished with a 149 (+5) for the two days which placed him at 38th individually among 88 golfers.  Jackson shot a a 151 (+7) and Spillers a 152 (+8) to finish 50th and 55th in the tournament.  Haupt finished with a 161 (+17) and Cooper with a 162(+18) to finish 74th and 77th as individuals.

All of the teams competing in the event were NCAA Division II squads with one other two year school competing.  The Cougars now travel to Lexington (KY) this weekend for the SVSU 2021 Men's Spring Intercollegiate at the Kearney Hill golf Links.  The tournament is hosted by Saginaw Valley State University.
