COUGAR GOLFERS FARE WELL ON FIRST DAY AT NATIONALS

Cleveland State sent three players to the NJCAA D II Men's Golf Championship this week at the Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth (IN).  After the first day of play, all three played well and found themselves in the middle of the field heading into the second day of competition.

Trent Cooper found himslef in a tie for 44th place as he carded a 76 to put him at 4 over par.  One stroke behind him is Tyler Jackson with a 77 to put him in a tie in the 51st position.  Harrison Haupt is in a tie for 77th place with a 80 (+8).

Cooper played his round with six bogeys and two birdies.  Jackson had three birdies and three bogeys, but also had a double and a triple bogey.  Haupt carded two birdies, six bogeys, and two double bogeys in his round.

According to Coach Miles Miles Moseley, "it was not too bad.  A couple of bad holes for Trent and Tyler, or it could have been really good.  Harrison was steady throughout his round."
