COUGARR GOLFERS FARE WELL IN BULLDOG BASH

The Cleveland State golf team took to the links in the first round of the Bulldog Bash hosted by Union University.  The tournament is taking place at the Canebrake Golf Club in Athens, AL.  After the first round, the Cougars mad a solid showing as the only junior college competing as they carded a 300 (+12) which put them 11 shots behind the tournament leader going into the second day.  

Wes Spillers was the top scorer for the squad as he shot an even par 72 which placed him in a tie for seventh place.  Dalton Chuba was next with a two over par 74 which has him in a tie for 19th place.  Trent Cooper finished with a 76 (+4) for a tie in 28th place.  Tyler Jackson is in a tie for 41st with a score of 78 (+6).  Harrison Haupt finished the day with an 80 (+8) for a 51st place.  

The Cougars will look on improving their team spot as the second day will consist of two rounds.  The squad is currently ranked #7 in the NJCAA Division II rankings based on the Golfstat computer ranking system.
