The Lady Cougars were unable to secure a victory in their final home game of the regular season, as they fell 70-46 to Walters State.
The Senators went on a 10-0 run to start the game and led 27-19 at the half on Wednesday night. The Lady Cougars put up a tough battle coming out of the locker room and were able to cut the lead to just 4 points midway through the third quarter, but Walters State's strong fourth quarter helped them pull away.
Hannah Phillips had a strong game for Cleveland State, putting together 12 points along with two rebounds, two assists and three steals on the night. Jordan Smith also chipped in six points, two assists, and a rebound.
The Cougars play again next Saturday as they travel to Harriman, TN to face the Raiders of Roane State College. Tip off is scheduled for 4:00 ET.
