The Lady Cougars basketball team secured a 83-81 victory in Dyersburg, TN at Dyersburg State on Friday night.
Cleveland State had four in double digits. Michaela Bennefield led the team with 26 points, and Britnay Gore also chipped in 13. Both Za'kkria Robinson and Hannah Phillips also had 12 points each.
"We refocused at the half and came out sense of purpose and a high level of effort," Head Coach Evelyn Thompson said.
Thompson also raved about the performance of Emily Colbaugh. "She came in and gave us some very valuable minutes in this game," Thompson said. "She stepped in at points and held us together. I am so proud of her effort tonight."
The Lady Cougars travel to Memphis, Tenn. on Saturday to face the Saluqis of Southwest Tennessee in their regular season finale. Tip off is set for 2:00 ET.
