The Lady Cougars travelled to Roane State on Saturday night and suffered a 76-55 defeat against the Lady Raiders.

Head Coach Evelyn Thompson felt that Cleveland State was not prepared enough for the tough task that Roane posed to her squad. "We were not ready to play tonight," Thompson said. "It is a part of my job to get us ready to play, and we were not ready. Roane is a team that always plays hard and is well-prepared."

Thompson also has a high level of respect for Roane State's head coach Monica Boles, who has been the Lady Raiders' head coach for 11 seasons. "Coach Boles does a great job of getting her players to play hard every game," Thompson said. "This is Coach Boles final year as Head Women's Basketball Coach at Roane. She is a great coach and an even better person. She has been a wonderful representative for Roane State, our conference and Women's basketball as a whole. Our young women need coaches like her in the game. She will be missed."

Cleveland State will travel to Dyersberg, TN on Friday to face the Eagles of Dyersburg State. Tip off is set for 6:30 ET.
