Dickson Shines for Cougars in Season Opener vs. Roane State

Cleveland State Men's Basketball opened their 2021 regular season with a heartbreaking 78-76 loss vs. conference foe Roane State on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars led for most of the contest, but the Raiders were able to battle back and make a deep three point shot to take the lead in the game's final seconds.

It was a fantastic showing for returner Maurice Dickson. The redshirt sophomore scored a team-high 16 points while also grabbing six boards. Newcomer Khristian Green also played a solid game, scoring 14 points and also dishing out a team-high six assists and posting six rebounds. Damian Forest also reached double-digits in points for the Cougars, scoring 11 with five boards. K'Juan Banks was the team leader in rebounds with seven total.

The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday as they continue their homestand to host Walters State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
