COUGARS COME UP SHORT IN REGION TITLE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Cougars struggled from the field Saturday afternoon as they saw their title hopes vanish as they dropped a 70-59 heartbreaker to Southwest Tennessee.  The Cougars only connected on 29% of their shots from the field which included a 2 for 19 showing from three point range.

Cleveland came out strong to start the game with  8-0 advantage to start.  they worked to maintain that advantage and led 28-22 lead at the break.  They would build a 42-32 advantage in the second half before the Saluquis went on a 11-0 run to take the lead.  The game stayed close the rest of the way.  The Cougars forced overtime as Damian Forrest hit on a free throw with seconds left.  The Saluquis exploded at the start overtime, quickly building a six point lead and held on to give the Cougars the loss.

K'Juan Banks led the Cougars with 18 points while Forrest also reached double figures with 15 points.  Both had nine rebounds to lead the team.  Khristian Green had nine points to go with a team high three assists.  

The Cougars see their season finish with an 11-7 overall record.
