LADY COUGARS OPEN 2017 WITH A WIN
After missing the opportunity to begin play in the second half of the season due to the inclement weather this past weekend, the Lady Cougars traveled to Northeast Tennessee to get their first action back against the junior varsity squad from Milligan College. Although the play was best described as "sluggish", the ladies prevailed by a 54-29 final.
Keya Jenkins (pictured) led the team with a double double as she tallied 16 points to go with ten rebounds. Leisa Butler and Abby Hubert also scored in double digits with ten points apiece. Butler backed Jenkins with seven boards of her own and leading the team with three assists.
Julia Gaither led the squad with four steals while Catherine Davis grabbed nine rebounds.
