The Lady Cougars (13-14, 6-12) battled back from a 13-point deficit at halftime to close out the game with an 87-86 win.
"This win was a great team effort," head coach Dan Lumpkin declared.
"Our players did a great job of battling for the ball again in the fourth quarter and took the lead hitting clutch free throws at the end to get the win."
Cleveland State saw four players score in double digits in their final game of the regular season, with Abby Hubert scoring 29 points, Leisa Butler with 12, JaTasha Hollinger had 11 and Julia Gaither had 10 points.
Dyersburg took a 15-13 lead over Cleveland State after the first quarter, and by halftime had made that a 13-point, 37-24 lead.
The Lady Cougars ramped things up in the second half.
"After being down 13 at the half, we mounted a great comeback with the full court press and some impressive shooting by Abby Hubert to outscore Dyersburg by 10 points in the third quarter," Lumpkin detailed. "They made a run and took the lead back to eight, but we started the fourth only down three points."
Cleveland State outscored Dyersburg State 36-26 in the third quarter and 27-23 in the fourth quarter to pick up the impressive comeback win.
The Lady Cougars finish seventh in the conference and will begin tournament play on March 6 at Walters State Community College.
