SEQUATCHIE'S SMITH SIGNS WITH LADY COUGAR BASKETBALL
Jordan Smith signed National Letter of Intent papers on Tuesday become Coach Dan Lumpkin's first high school signee for the 2017-2018 campaign.
Smith, a 5'8" combo guard, was a starter for the Lady Indians as she played both the point and shooting guard positions. She finished her high school career with 997 points. As a senior, she averaged 14.8 points per contest to go with 4 assists and 3.5 steals a game.
Jordan was named to the All-District team in both her junior and senior year as well as being named to the All-Tournament team both years. She was the leading scorer this past year for Sequatchie as they went 16-10 this season. Her head coach at Sequatchie is former Polk County coach Ronnie Davis while former Lady Cougar Kasey Woodlee was her assistant coach.
Both of Smith's parents are in education as her dad is the Sequatchie County head men's boys coach while her mother is the principal at Sequatchie Middle School. Her plan is to follow her parents' example and pursue a degree in education so she can become a teacher and coach in the future.
