COUGAR SOFTBALL SPLITS DH WITH WALTERS

The Lady Cougars split a doubleheader with the Lady Senators of Walters State on Wednesday afternoon.  They won the first game 10-0 in five innings, but lost 13-3 in five in the second contest.

They punded out 15 hits in the first game as Anna Yell and Madison Miner both had three hits to go with 2 RBIs.   Katie Dinger had two hits and 2 RBIs while Kaylee Hughes and Shayla Phillips also each had two hits. Katie Davis also drove in two runs.  Yell picked up the pitching victory throwing a three hitter with one strikeout and two walks.

The ladies had 11 hits in the second game, but couldn't string a rally together as Walters scored five runs in two seperate innings.  McCoy Hensley, Makala Strickland, and Davis each had two hits in the game.  Macy Smith took the loss, going 3 2/3 innings.  She gave upp 10 hits, 11 runs (6 earned) while walkingthree and striking out five batters.
