The Cougars travelled to Boaz, AL Monday night for their first regular season game of the year vs Snead State. Cleveland State started the season off right with a win over Snead State 69-63.
Head Coach, Evelyn Thompson was proud of her team "I think tonight we came in with a lot of nerves and excitement about the start of the season. Fortunately for us, we were able to settle down in the second half and get the win. I am proud of the way that we continued to fight. Asjah Harrell led us with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists. Emma Harig have us a double-double, with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Nicky Jones' stat line read 15 points, 4 rebounds. She also gave us a solid performance on the defensive end of the floor. This win was a team effort. We have some things to work on this week, but I am certain we will get there.
Cleveland State will be back in action Thursday, November 4 as they host Gadsden State Community College for their first home game of the season. Tip off is set for 7:30pm
