THE LADY COUGARS STAY UNDEFEATED ON THE ROAD

Saturday night the Cougars took on 3-4 Southwest Tennessee and came out with a road win, staying undefeated on season. Head Coach Evelyn Thompson was happy with the win,

"I am always happy with a win, especially win a road win. Southwest is always a very competitive team. We know coming in that we will have to stay focused for the entirety of the contest.

I am so proud of the defensive effort, forcing 26 turnovers and collecting 15 steals. We were locked in defensively for the majority of the game. The one aspect of the game that not happy about is our lack of rebounding. We will focus on that for the next week of practice.

Asjah Harrell had an outstanding game on both ends of the floor. Her stat line reads 29 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals, and no turnovers. She was 7 of 18 from beyond the arc. That is the kind of production I expect out of her every game. Nicky Jones had a solid game with 13 points, 3 steals, and 3 rebounds. She was 3-5 from 3 point range. The thing that I am most impressed about her is that she really sets the tone defensively.

We will spend this week getting better on both ends of the floor."

The Cougars will be back in action December 1, 2021 at L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium tip off set for 5:30 pm.
