The TCCAA / Region VII Women's Basketball Championship game saw the number one seed Walters State Lady Senators against the number three seeded Cleveland State Lady Cougars. In a hard fought game the Lady Senators prevailed with a 52-44 win ending the Lady Cougars basketball..

 

After an exciting win in the semifinals over Chattanooga State, Cleveland State started the championship game slowly, scoring five points in the first quarter.  Down by five at the end of three the Lady Cougars would eventually take the loss by eight.

 

Michaela Bennefield continued her outstanding tournament by scoring 21 points and pulling down 11 rebounds including four steals. Chipping in  for the Lady Cougars were Nicky Jones with nine, Asjah Harrell with six, Emma Harig with four, followed by Kiersten Hudson and Kyisha Dalton with two each.  Hudson also had seven rebounds, while Harig grabbed six.  Harrell led Cleveland State with four assists and also had four rebounds.

 

The Lady Cougars finished the basketball season including tournament play with an overall record of 18-6, including a Runner-up in the Region VII /  Tournament.
