February 28 was a big night for the Cleveland State women as Asjah Harrell poured in 30 points leading the Lady Cougars to a win in the semifinals over Chattanooga State 79-65 in the TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Tournament at host school Dyersburg State.  The win puts Head Coach Evelynn Thompson's Lady Cougars in the championship game vs. Walters State. 

With a nine-point lead going into the second half, Cleveland State held the Lady Tigers to seven points in the third quarter increasing the lead to 52-32.  Three of Harrell's teammates joined her in double figure scoring with Michaela Bennefield scoring 16 with 17 rebounds while Nicky Jones and Emma Harig each scored 10.

Harrell's line score was impressive indeed, knocking down four 3-point shots, shooting a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line, pulling down nine rebounds and stealing the ball five times.  Harrell hit a critical three down the stretch when Chattanooga State cut the lead to six points with a little over two minutes to play.

The championship against the Lady Senators of Walters State is set for 5 p.m. EST on Tuesday March 1.
