The Cougars are coming off a heartbreaking loss against Walters State, that broke their perfect 6-0 record. But, they didn't let that keep them down tonight as they travelled to Jackson State. Even though it was close, the Cougars are coming home with a big conference win 69-67. The Cougars are now 7-1 over-all and 4-1 in the conference.

Head Coach Evelyn Thompson said "Every game in the conference is going to be a tough contest, especially on the road. Tonight's win was a testimony to our toughness and determination. I challenged them to focus and get the win. I am proud of the fact that we pulled together as a team, and got the win. It was a total team effort. Foul trouble was a big concern tonight, but it was our defense that secured the win. We had four players in double figures. Asjah Harrell led us with 18 points. Nicky Jones contributed 15. Michaela Benefield chipped in 12, and Kyeisha Dalton rounded it out with 11. We will be back in the gym focusing on getting better, finishing out this year's schedule, and preparing for the new year.

Cleveland State will be back in action Wednesday, December 8 as they take on Gadsden State. Tip off is set for 6:30 EST time.
