Cougar Softball Loses Doubleheader to Snead State

Tuesday February 28 Cougar Softball Travelled to Boaz Alabama and lost two five inning games to Snead State 11-2 and 10-2.  The losses move Cleveland States overall season record to 5-5.  Conference play starts the first weekend in March with the Cougars slated to play Dyersburg State in two doubleheaders.

 

Game One Recap

 

After two innings of play the Cougars were down 7-0 and would never answer back as they scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings for the eventual 11-2 loss.

 

Cleveland State with six hits on the game were led by Shelby Sullivan who was 2-for-2 with two RBI's including her fourth homerun of the season.  A double by Carlynn Atamaniuk along with singles by Abby Starnes, Kristen Fowler and Lexi Vogel with lead off walks by Hope Ingle in two innings rounded out the Cougars on base attack.

 

Game Two Recap

 

Once again Cleveland State was down 7-0 this time after three innings of play.  With a losing score of 10-2 the Cougars scored runs in the fourth and the fifth inning.

 

It was Sullivan plating a run in the fourth and Abby Young in the fifth hitting her first homerun of the season.  With just three hits on the game it was Young and her homerun joined by Whitney Lee and Vogel each with singles.
