Women's Basketball extended their winning streak to five games on Wednesday evening, defeating Motlow State 79-70.

However, the win did not come without its share of drama. The Lady Cougars actually trailed the Lady Bucks 32-30 at the half, but, as head coach Evelyn Thompson shared, her squad "made some adjustments at the half to pull out the win."

Thompson named Kyeshia Dalton as a key player who helped Cleveland State earn the hard-fought victory. Dalton had 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Though she contributed offensively, Thompson noted that it was "her defensive tenacity that got [the Lady Cougars] back on track."

"She gave us a much-needed spark," Thompson said.

Asjah Harrell posted her third straight game with at least 20 points, scoring 21, while also dishing out nine assists and grabbing five boards. Britnay Gore scored 18 points of her own, while also posting her fourth-straight double-double with 14 rebounds and four steals. Charisma Barner was also a key contributor, scoring 12 points, while also posting four rebounds and a pair of assists.

The win moves Cleveland State to 9-5 overall and 5-1 in TCCAA play. The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Saturday at 2:00 ET, as they welcome Columbia State to their home floor.
