Barner Has Strong Night vs. Walters State
Women's Basketball suffered a tough loss on Wednesday vs. Walters State, falling 78-70 to the Lady Senators.
The story of the game, however, was the tough, never-give-up mentality of the Lady Cougars. Walters State led by as many as 12 points at the midway point of the second quarter. Cleveland State battled back to lead by a point late in the third quarter, but unfortunately their ferocious comeback was not enough to earn the win.
Charisma Barner led the team in both categories to secure her double-double, posting 19 points and 11 rebounds. She also had a steal. Asjah Harrell tied the game-high with three assists while also scoring 18 points of her points along with three steals and three rebounds. Kyeshia Dalton scored a career-high 14 points while also grabbing four boards and three steals.
The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Jackson State. Tip-off is set for 3:00 ET.
