Thirty two Cleveland State student athletes earned awards for Academic Achievement for the 2022-23 school year with the honors coming from each of the six collegiate athletic sports teams at Cleveland State. On Wednesday, July 26, the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) announced the recipients at the summer conference meeting held at Volunteer State.
The Academic Achievement Awards are named in honor of L. Quentin Lane, former President at Cleveland State and Commissioner of the TCCAA. The awards are divided into three categories based on GPA and college credit hours completed criteria.
Those receiving the Diamond Award had a GPA of 4.00 with the First Team Award recipients having a GPA from 3.50-3.99 while the Second Team Award's GPA was 3.00-3.49.
Number of award winners from each team included: Baseball-12, Softball-7, Golf-6, Volleyball-4, Women's Basketball-2, and Men's Basketball-1.
