New season, new head coach for the Cougars women's basketball team. Cleveland State hired Lisa Phillips to lead the team this season and she is looking for more than just on the court success.
New season, new head coach for the Cougars women's basketball team.
Cleveland State hired Lisa Phillips to lead the team this season and she is looking for more than just on the court success.
"My goal here is to build those foundational pieces that take these young women to the next level, not only on the court but in their academics and future careers," head coach Lisa Phillips said.
Phillips joins the Cougars with over 20 years of coaching experience. Last year she was the head coach at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. The year prior she was an assistant coach for Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. In 2020 she was the director of women's basketball operations at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL.
She also started a women's basketball program at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA where she was the head coach from 2018-2020.
