Head Volleyball Coach Alizabeth Atnip Resigns

Her time has come to an end at Cleveland State.

Head volleyball coach Alizabeth Atnip resigned from her position with the Cougars.

"It was a blessing to be apart of this great athletic program Cleveland State started in 2017," Atnip said. "The sport has continued to grow in our area and I look forward to what the next 7 years and beyond will bring."

Atnip started as an assistant coach with the program for two years before becoming the head coach for the last five.

"We appreciate her time and efforts with the program and Cleveland State athletics wishes coach Atnip well in her future endeavors," Cleveland State Athletic Director and head baseball coach Michael Policastro said.  "She has always demonstrated her commitment to her players and she has set the foundation for our volleyball program to be competitive in the TCCAA."

Atnip has been with the program since it's beginning seven years ago.

"It has been a privilege to coach so many student athletes, many of which developed their skills and continued in other programs," Atnip said. "I will cherish the memories forged in our L. Quentin gymnasium."

Cleveland State is currently searching for a new head volleyball coach for their 2024 season next fall.
