Cleveland State's women's basketball team lost their conference opener this afternoon at home. The Cougars (0-3, 0-1) lost 71-51 against Jackson State (2-0, 1-0).

The Cougars (0-3, 0-1) lost 71-51 against Jackson State (2-0, 1-0).
Turnovers were the biggest discrepancy with Cleveland State committing nearly twice as many with 30 compared to the Green Jays 17. Jackson State turned those turnovers into 25 points.
The Green Jays bench also contributed well putting in 26 points where the Cougars got only seven from their reserves.
Marihya Hart led all scorers with 14 for Jackson State. Three other players also scored in double figures.
Erin Dixson put in a team high 12 points for Cleveland State. Maiya Moore scored 11 and is currently fourth in the conference averaging 14.5 points per game. Aviva Palms tallied a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Cleveland State is back at home for their next game hosting Chattanooga State (2-0, 0-0). Tip-off is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13 at 5:30 p.m.
