
Saluqis Pull Ahead in Fourth Quarter Defeating Cleveland State
It was tied at halftime, and the Cougars were down three after three quarters, but Southwest Tennessee pulled away in the final frame.
The Saluqis (10-5, 5-5) put together a 23-9 fourth to win at Cleveland State (4-13, 2-8) this afternoon 58-41.
Jamiyah Jones came in off the bench for SW Tennessee to score a game high 25 points. Jaliyah Zackery, the conference's third leading scorer, put together a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
For Cleveland, Jarnyri Maddox led the way with 14 points. The league's leading rebounder, Mar'Nazha Houston, finished with a double-double scoring 12 points while bringing down 15 rebounds.
This marks five straight losses now for the Cougars with their last win coming at Southern Crescent Technical College before the winter breaker on December 14.
Cleveland State looks to snap their losing streak when they hit the court next on Saturday at Jackson State (9-4, 5-4). Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
