It was a lot closer this game compared to the first time these two teams met.
Cleveland State (5-16, 3-11) ended up losing to first place Walters State (16-4, 13-0), but this time it was 53-46. In their first meeting on November 20 the Senators topped the Cougars 70-32.
Three Cougars scored in double figures on the night with Ziara Thompson leading the way with 13. Addison Garner put in 11 while Maiya Moore added 10.
The Senators had two players score in double digits with Kyra Perkins coming in off the bench to put in a game high 25 points. Nyjah Gibbs added 10 of her own.
Next up for Cleveland State is a road trip to second place Columbia State (12-8, 11-3) this Saturday with tip-off set for 3 p.m.
