
Cougars Women's Basketball Goes to Volunteer State Looking for Series Sweep
There will be a battle on the boards today.
Two of the conference's top three leading rebounders are featured when Cleveland State (6-17, 4-12) travels to Volunteer State (4-20, 2-13).
Mar'Nazha Houston is the conference leader with 15.8 rebounds per game for the Cougars while the Pioneers Kendall Myree comes in at third in the conference bringing down 9.6 boards.
This is the second meeting of the season between the two schools with Cleveland winning at home 51-50 in their first game back on December 7.
The Cougars are scoring 49.5 points per game on 32.9 percent shooting including 24.1% from the three-point line while putting in 51.9% of their shots from the free-throw line. The team is bringing down 38.1 rebounds per game and dishing out 8.1 assists.
Volunteer State averages 53 points a game on 31.7 percent shooting with 30.8% from behind the arc and 63.2% from the free-throw line while rebounding 32 per game and averaging 10.8 assists.
Maiya Moore comes in as Cleveland State's leading scorer at 10.7 per game with Houston right behind her at 10.2. Myree is scoring 15.6 points per game to lead the Pioneers.
