Cleveland State lost on their home court to the Eagles this afternoon.
The loss is the Cougars (5-15, 3-10) second straight and seventh in their last eight games. Dyersburg State (12-8, 9-4) is now on a three-game winning streak and in sole possession of third place in the conference after the 53-38 win.
Jarnyri Maddox was the only Cleveland State player able to get much going offensively scoring a game high 15 points while also securing seven rebounds, two assists and four steals.
For the Eagles, Lilly Bennett led the way with 12 points while Alana Seals also scored in double figures with 10.
Cleveland State remains at home for their next game this Wednesday against first place Walters State (15-4, 12-0). Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
