"We showed a ton of fight in the second half, held them to 15 points," head coach Ayana Williams said. "We have to find a way to bottle up that fight and effort and build."
Rebecca Wood led all scorers with 16 for Dyersburg State coming in off the bench. Paris Halliburton had 12 also starting off as a reserve.
Ziara Thompson put in four three-pointers finishing with 12 points as a team high for Cleveland State. Mar'Nazha Houston dominated the glass throughout the night with 21 total rebounds helping make her the conference leader in that category now at 12.25 per game.
Cleveland State goes to Walters State (3-2, 2-0) for their next game on Wednesday with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
