
LADY COUGARS DEFEAT SOUTHERN CRESCENT 60-40 FOR FIRST WIN
On Tuesday November 26 behind 36 rebounds by Mar'Nazha Houston and eight 3's from Ziara Thompson Cleveland State won on their home court besting Southern Crescent Technical College 60-40. The Cougars started off with a bang out scoring Southern Crescent in the first quarter 19-2 leading to a halftime lead of 25-11. At the half Houston already had 23 rebounds.

"Long time coming, but these kids deserved to see the fruit of their labor come to fruition in the form of a win!" head coach Ayanna McWilliams said. "I'm extremely proud of the way they've been leaving it on the floor every night, especially as of late and I hope that it was just the boost we needed going in the final stretch before Christmas break."
On the game which Cleveland State played with only five players three scored in double figures led
by Thompson with 29, followed by Houston with 16 and Dejanae Dennis-Cassanova who had 13 with
six boards. Becca Wright had eight assists and five rebounds, while Addison Garner along with
Thompson each pulled down seven rebounds.
With a 1-7 record the Cougars next contest is on Wednesday December 4 when they travel to
Tullahoma Tennessee to play the Motlow State women in a conference matchup. Currently Motlow is
winless overall with a record of 0-9.
