Cougar Volleyball Loses in Four-Sets to Walters State

Cougar Volleyball travelled to Walters State on Tuesday September 20 and lost a hard fought match to Walters State losing sets one, three and four; 25-15, 25-19 and 25-15.  The set two score was a Cleveland State 25-22 win.  

 

Cougar head coach Alizabeth Atnip was pleased with her team saying:  "Great team game!  With some injuries on the team we had to gut it out and play together.  It might have been a loss but I'm proud of the girls playing as a team."

 

Leading the total team effort was the one two punch of Madison Husted and Kathryn Kibler.  Husted had 29 Digs while Kibler had 13 Kills.

 

The TCCAA Volleyball standings remained bunched with the Cougars just two matches out of the first place tie of Chattanooga Sate, Walters and Roane State.  With an overall record of 5-4 and conference mark of 0-3, Cleveland State is back at it with a conference home match vs Chattanooga on Thursday September 22.

 

Match start time is set for 6:30 p.m. in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium on the campus of Cleveland State.  Admission price is $8 per person while Cleveland State students attend with no charge.
