Volleyball Out of NJCAA Region VII Tournament…Takes Three-Set Loss

The "second" season is over for Cougar Volleyball as they lost in three sets to number one seed Chattanooga State in round one of the NJCAA Region VII single elimination tournament on Friday October 28.

 

Set scores were 25-17, 25-18 and 25-19 as Ella Johnson had seven Kills while Brianna Parks had six.  Taylor Hancock led the way with 15 assists with Kathryn Kibler and Johnson chipping in with 12 and 11 Digs respectively.

 

Cleveland State Head Coach Atnip said:  "We ended season tonight but with a fight.  They battled from start to finish against a really good Chattanooga team.  Much improved all around."

 

The tournament champion will be decided Saturday October 29 with Chattanooga State facing off against number two seed Walters State who had eliminated number three seed Roane State in three sets.  Match start time is at 1:00 p.m. at Chattanooga State.
