
Cougars Comeback Falls Short in Conference Opener
After losing the first two sets, Cleveland State volleyball came back to force a fifth set in their conference opener. The Cougars pushed Pellissippi State (3-2, 1-0) all the way to match point before the Panthers took the final two points to hold off the comeback.

"Losing is never easy, especially in your home gym in a match that we felt like we could pull out," head coach Peyton McDaniel said. "I was happy with the way we rallied after set 2 and fought until the very end."
Zowee Dillard put together a triple double with 17 kills, 13 assists and 14 digs while also recording four aces. Isabella Messer finished with 19 digs while Marissa Ray had 13 digs and 12 assists.
The Cougars hit the road for another conference match in their next game going to Roane State on Tuesday, September 17 with game time slated for 6:30 p.m.
