Cleveland State opened conference play dropping a double header at Volunteer State CC.
The Pioneers jumped out to a 6-0 lead in game 1 and the Cougars couldn't manage a comeback, losing 13-2.
Game 2 was much closer with Cleveland State tying the Pioneers in the final inning on a single by first baseman Caleb Longley that drove in two runs. In the bottom half, though, Volunteer State's Janos Briscoe scored on a wild pitch in walk off fashion.
The final game of the series is today with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
