Cleveland State's six run ninth inning rally fell short in the series finale at Dyersburg State.
Two men were on base with one out in the last inning, but the Cougars couldn't bat the runs in, losing 12-10.
Cleveland State's centerfielder Wright Hackett led the offensive outburst driving in four runs on three hits. Eagles rightfielder Jackson Hollinshead drove in three runs on a double and home run.
The Cougars take the field next at Tusculum College in a double header scheduled for this Tuesday with first pitch at 4 p.m.
