Chattanooga State swept the Cougars in a three game series this weekend.
Cleveland State lost 9-6 at Tiger Field in the final game of the series this afternoon.
The Cougars pulled to within a run in the top of the eighth before Chattanooga State (12-10) added two insurance runs in the bottom of the inning.
Tigers pitcher Andy Clay earned the save pitching the final two innings allowing one unearned run.
Cleveland State (12-10) returns to Cougar field this Wednesday hosting Georgia Highlands College with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
